VA Loan Requirements
VA Loan Requirements
VA loan requirements are not as stringent as other loan programs. Whether you’re an active-duty Veteran, out of the service, or retired; we’re able to help you secure a VA loan. Below are a few of the basic requirements:
*Minimum 580 credit score
*Have a Certificate of eligibility (If not yet requested, we can request for you)
*Two years of stable employment history
*Two years of tax filings
*2 years post-bankruptcy
*2 years post foreclosure
*Must be your primary residence
VA certificate of eligibility requirements:
- 181 days of service during peacetime
- 90 days of service during war time
- 6 years of service in the Reserves or National Guard
- Some surviving spouses of veterans killed in the line of duty are also eligible
As long as you meet the above basic VA loan requirements, I should be able to help you secure a VA loan. Since we’re not only a direct lender but a mortgage broker, I’m able to do all the shopping on your behalf to help you find the most competitive interest rate and close within 21 days. All VA lenders must adhere to the VA guidelines published within the underwriting handbook; however certain lenders (such as myself) are more aggressive than others when it comes to maximizing your loan approval and finding loopholes within the VA guidelines. Over the years there have been many instances when I’ve been able to qualify a Veteran for a higher dollar amount and close faster than their current lender. I have been serving our military community all over Chula Vista, San Diego, and Riverside County for over two decades and look forward to assisting you and your family.
