A VA Streamline Refinance is a low cost loan with little documentation needed. These loans help Veteran’s refinance their current mortgage into a new lower interest rate at any point and as many times during their time of  home ownership. VA streamlines are also known as Interest Rate Reduction Refinance Loans (IRRRL) which eliminate many of the roadblocks that hold up applicants on other types of refinances. In order to take advantage of this type of refinance, the going interest rate must be lower than the current loan, for the refinance to show a benefit to the Veteran and at least 6 on time monthly payment need to have been paid.

The VA Streamline is much easier because:

• No paystubs or W2s are required (In most cases)
• No bank statements are required (In most cases)
• No home appraisal is required
• There is no loan-to-value limitation because no appraisal or value is required.
• The required funding fee is lower than for VA purchase loans
• Closing costs can be wrapped into the new loan, meaning little or no out-of-pocket expenses
• 45-60 days 1st payment
