Can I purchase again using my VA benefit after having a VA loan foreclosure?
Can I purchase again using my VA benefit after having a VA loan foreclosure
The answer is yes! As long as the Foreclosure took place more than 2 years ago and the Veteran is able to provide a signed letter of explanation going over the extenuating circumstances which led up to the foreclosure and how things have improved since. The circumstances which led up to the foreclosure must clearly show that they were out of the Veterans control (severe Illness, Job loss, Etc.).
The VA will more than likely require a small down payment and will have a max loan amount based on the City and State in which the Veteran is looking to purchase (Tier II eligibility).
